​What makes this winery so special?

Virgen de La Sierra winery is the result of a whole village; Villarroya de la Sierra. This has become a strong project born more than fifty years ago.

It has conserved the wisdom of a millenarian culture in “working” vines by hand, whilst they adapt and refine these techniques to the necessities of the market.

Their premise is to focus on investigation and innovations in viticulture without forgetting tradition.
 

​

All the vines of Virgen de la Sierra are worked by hand during the warm and dry summers, followed by, long cool autumns.
 

​

The winery is surrounded by the natural region of the river Ebro valley which is situated 700-800 m above sea level.
