Marqués de Montañana brands those Spanish wines coming from the old bush vines that have been growing for centuries in the mythic red hills of Calatayud. Two Aragonian-autochthonous grapes give shape to the wine range: Viura (white wine) and Garnacha (young and oaked reds).

Spanish nobility dates back to the times when Don Pelayo reconquered those territories occupied by the Arabs. The noble distinction of Marqués (aka. Marquis) was specially designated for every lord in charge of defending a border of the Spanish kingdoms. Montañana was one of the most dangerous frontiers of the kingdom of Aragon. It’s said that the lord of
Montañana elaborated a special wine with rare grapes coming for the highest red hills of the land that made his warriors win every battle. Montañana was never defeated in battle and is today remembered for the power of its wine.
