Origin
This brand consists of
three different wines: Viura (white wine),
Garnacha (red wine) and Selección Especial
(red semi crianza). These wines come from very old bush
vines which guarantee pure quality grapes.
Most of the vines of this winery are over 50 years old and many of them are up to 100 years old, thanks to the enormous dedication of the grape growers,
generation after generation.
The wines are produced
by the winery Virgen de la Sierra.
This is Spanish oldest bodega in D.O. Calatayud,
which is located southwest of Zaragoza. The experience of this winery, assures that this brand is continuing to grow with the elaboration of authentic Garnacha (Grenache) and Viura wines.
Marqués de Montañana
refers to the name of a small village
close to Zaragoza, where some marquises used to live.
These were men of fortune, who were living a comfortable life with a lot of good tasting food and authentic wines. With the aim of bringing back this lifestyle to life; AXIAL VINOS decided to create a luxury wine brand
which is called “Marqués de Montañana”.
